Robert E. Sheler
Feb. 16, 1918 - July 29, 1992
MISHAWAKA - Robert E. Sheler, 74, of 1221 E. Third St., died at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. Mr. Sheler was owner of Sheler Office Supplies and Printing for 30 years.
He was born Feb. 16. 1918, in Elkhart. On July 11, 1981, in Mishawaka, he married Lois Avery. She survives, with a son, Robert E. Sheler II; two stepdaughters, Mary Klatt and Kathy both of Mishawaka; four stepsons, Thomas, William, Daniel and Gary Avery, all of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren: six great and a brother, Milo of Leesburg, Ind.
A daughter, Barbara Voekert, died Aug. 5, 1990.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 161, Fraternal Order of Eagles 2083 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, where he was service master for 16 years. He was a founder of Northside Business Association of Mishawaka and former chairman Charitable Solicitation Commission of the City of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, where members of VFW will conduct military services. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
