Mary M. Calloway, 87, of Donaldson, passed away at 11:22 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2005, at the Catherine Kasper Life Center in Donaldson.

Mary was born on May 2, 1918, in South Bend, to Leo and Lillian (Murphy) Rankin. On May 30, 1941, she married Edward V. Calloway. Her parents, husband, and brothers, Al and Leo Rankin, have all preceded her in death.

Her children, Cheryl (Terry) Crone of Carmel, John (Diane) Calloway of Valparaiso, Thomas (Karen) Calloway of Bremen and Daniel Calloway of South Bend; and grandchildren, Mary Calloway-Follman, Carrie Calloway, Thomas Calloway, Steven Calloway, Jennifer Crone, Michelle Crone, Katheryn Crone, Sean Calloway and Krista Calloway, survive her.

Mary worked as a secretary for South Bend Lathe for 20 years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and was a spiritual member of the Legion of Mary. She served with the Auxiliary at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Gram never had the opportunity to travel, but she lived vicariously through her grandchildren's adventures. She was so proud of every one of them. Her family was the most important thing to her. She put her children and grandchildren first and would do anything for them. She showed love, devotion, respect and compassion, and tried to lend a helping hand to anyone she met.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 12, 2005, from noon to l:00 p.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2005, in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
