Henry L. Policinski

Henry L. Policinski, 81, of 1450 Miner Street, South Bend, Ind., died after a short illness on Sunday evening, Oct. 18, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was born to Stanley and Mary (Ogniszak) Policinski on July 6, 1917, in South Bend. He was a lifelong resident of South Bend. He retired in 1982 after 46 years with the Reliance Corporation, formerly the Dodge Manufacturing Company, Mishawaka, Ind.

On May 16, 1942, he married Wanda N. Gonsorek at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, Michigan City, Ind. She survives. Mr. Policinski is also survived by his three sons and their spouses: Henry J. (Marion) Policinski of Stanford, Conn., Thomas P. (Helene) Policinski of Mishawaka and Mark R. (Patricia) Policinski of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Eugene T. (Margaret) Policinski of South Bend; and by a sister, Gladys (Harry) Waranica of Grand Rapids, Mich. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Adeline Policinski and Edna Turner. He was a proud and loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, Alicia, Meredith, Anne and Thomas; and to his two step-grandchildren, Andrew (Anna) Hartman and Joy Hartman.

Mr. Policinski was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend, the Associates of Saint Joseph Holy Cross Brothers, the Golden Cluster of Saint Hedwig's Parish, and of the Dodge Quarter Century Club. He served his country in the Navy, in the Pacific Theater, during World War II.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22nd, in Saint Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, followed by the burial. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hickey Funeral. Homes, 3516 E. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, where the parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., along with the Associates of Saint Joseph Holy Cross Brothers. In

lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Policinski has requested that contributions be made to the Saint Joseph Grade School Building Fund, 216 N. Hill Street, South Bend, IN 46617.
