Elsie Irma (Papai) Kwasneski

Oct. 8, 1917 - March 27, 1998

Elsie I. Kwasneski, 80, of Niles, Mich., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Friday, March 27, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility.

Mrs. Kwasneski was born on Oct. 8, 1917, in Divemon, Ill. She retired in October 1979 from Sobenite Plastics.

On April 26, 1941, in South Bend, as Elsie I. Papai, she married Stanley Kwasneski, who survives. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Smith of Niles; a son, Robert Kwasneski of Michigan; and by a grandson, Shane Smith of Niles.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Julius, Alex, Andy, Elmer and Joseph Papai.

Mrs. Kwasneski was a member of Christ the King Parish and a former volunteer at the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish vigil will be held at 4:30 p.m.
