Richard Obenchain

Richard Obenchain, 55, of Richardson, Tex., formerly of South Bend, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday in Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, after suffering a heart attack. He was a senior project engineer for the Teledyne-Geotech Corp. of Garland, Tex. Born June 27, 1918, in South Bend, he had resided here until moving to California in 1959. He moved to Dallas in 1969.
On Jan. 30, 1943, in South Bend, he married Mary Ellen Graf, who survives. Also surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Flora Obenchain of Popano Beach, Fla.; a son, Thomas of El Monte, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Omeron of Denver Colo.; a grandchild; a brother, Roland of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. William Fox of South Bend.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Rev. Daniel W. Fowler, D.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. A graduate of Purdue University, Mr. Obenchain was a member of Lodge 294, F & AM, and the Instrument Society of America.
