Richard N. Neal

NILES - Richard N. Neal, 73, of 308 Ontario St., died at 1:50 p.m. Monday in Pawating Hospital after an illness. Mr. Neal retired in 1984 as a forklift driver from Bendix Corp., South Bend, where he worked for 35 years.

He was born Dec. 2, 1918, in LaPorte, and moved to Niles in 1940.

On Jan. 21, 1940, in Roseland, he married Betty J. Finn. She died May 8, 1985.

Surviving are a daughter, Treana Kay Rock of South Bend; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pifer-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
