CASSOPOLIS - Services for Betty J. Short, 71, of 61682 Leigh Ave., who died at 5:10 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness, will be at 1 p.m.

Monday in Connelly Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans Association.

Mrs. Short was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Huntington, Ind., coming here in 1967 from South Bend.

On Aug. 29, 1943, she married Robert H. Short Sr. He died in 1988. Surviving are four daughters, Susan Zimmer, Joan Westrate and Nancy Brown, all of Cassopolis, and Jean Goldy of Granger; two sons, Robert H. Short Jr. of Cassopolis and James M. Short of Edwardsburg; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a sister, Nancy Mehnert of Bay City, Mich.; and her stepmother, Lottie Morse of Marquette, Wis.
