Services for Kenneth Reed Merchant, 60, an industrial engineer with Motorola, Inc., will be 2 p.m. today in Chapel ofthe Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. Mr. Merchant came here 13 years ago from Ohio and died Feb. 10, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was graduated from Purdue University in 1940 and was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers, Alpha Kappa Alpha fraternity, Grace Presbyterian Chapel. He worked with Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts.

Surviving are his wife, Delcie; children, Kenneth, Byron, Arthur, Courtland and Delcie D. Merchant and two brothers
