Alfred Harry Liszewski
Sept. 16, 1917 – March 23, 2003
Alfred H. Liszewski, 85, of Roxbury Plaza, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, in his residence. He was born on Sept.16, 1917, in South Bend.
He was raised by Harry and Helen Liszewski, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
On Oct. 26, 1946, in South Bend, he married Evalyn Kaznia, who survives. Alfred is also survived by four daughters, Sharon (Miles) Lombard of Davidson, Mich., Elizabeth (Gregory) Ball of Haiku, Hawaii, Patricia (Edward) Patzer of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Amy (Tom) Ferguson of South Bend; one son, Mark (Judy) Liszewski of South Bend; and by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He retired in 1980 after 25 years as a salesman for the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company. He worked at Scottsdale Amoco with his son Mark for 16 years after retirement. Alfred was a longstanding member of St. John the Baptist Church where he was actively involved in church activities. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 284 and of the Golden Cluster Club.
Visitation will be today, March 25, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 26, at 10 a.m.in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Building Fund or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
