Louis W. Horvath, 82, of the Tanglewood Trace Retirement Center, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, May 1, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Horvath retired in 1977 from Torrington where he was employed as a tool and machine designer for 36 years.

He was born on March 25, 1918, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Steven and Lydia Horvath. On Jan. 24, 1941, in South Bend, he married Helen M. Farkas, who died on Aug. 29, 1979. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Marie Horvath.

On Nov. 1, 1990, he then married Margaret Anderson, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Joseph M. Horvath of South Bend.

Louis was a ham radio operator, on the board of directors of the Forever Learning Institute, and was an officer of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, in the New Apostolic church, Osceola, Ind. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services in the church.
