June Hortense (Hoban) Holladay

June Hoban Holladay of 9 Egret Drive, Beaufort, S.C., died on Friday, Aug. 14, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaufort, and interment will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery.

Mrs. Holladay was the eldest child of Thomas and Ima Hoban. She grew up in South Bend, Ind., and attended St./Joseph Grade School and Central High School.

Mrs. Holladay was part of the South Bend Hoban clan and resided at Hoban corner, located at Colfax and St. Louis Streets. She was a member of the Central High School Bridge Club, which included local residents Mildred Claycomb, Maxine Vollmer and Ginny Frepan.

She married Frederick Owen Holladay in 1945 in Baltimore, Md. Her husband, a retired Navy captain, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Holladay resided in West Orange, N.J., for most of her married life. She was employed by and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange. Mrs. Holladay spent the last years of her life in Beaufort, S.C., where she was active in the community. She served as a volunteer for the Red Cross/Navy Relief and the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Royal Pines Country Club, St. Peter's Catholic Church, and was a participant of the Parris Island Bridge Club.

She is survived by a son, Larry Holladay. of Baltimore; a niece, Mary Hoban Ricci of Thornwood, N.Y.; and by two grandchildren, Debra Hagen of Gettysburg, Pa., and Tracie Holladay of Orlando, Fla.
