Joseph E. Herczeg, 67, of 131 S. Gladstone Ave., died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Herczeg retired from Mohawk Door Co. He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Oct. 13, 1945, in South Bend, he married Dorothy Budzinski, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Molnar and Rosemary McColley, both of South Bend; four brothers, Steven, James, Anthony and Louis, all of South Bend; and his mother, Irene Herczeg of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Moose Lodge 36 and the parish rosary at 7:30 p.m.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 36, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9820, American Legion Pulaski Post 357, St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member and financial secretary of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America, and a veteran of World War II.
