Annette (Gaczkowski) Harreld

Annette Harreld, 83, of the Southfield Village Nursing Home, South Bend, Ind., formerly of 34th Street, South Bend, died Friday, Sept. 7th, in Southfield Village.

She was born in South Bend on Aug. 13, 1918, to Michael and Mary Gaczkowski. On Sept, 9, 1939, in South Bend, she married John A. Rutkowski, who died on July 5, 1958. On July 4, 1980, in South Bend, she married Merrill T. Harreld, who died on March 20, 1991. Annette was also preceded in death by a brother, Tony Gaczkowski of Granger, Ind.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Rutkowski of Granger; four grandchildren, John Rutkowski of Minnesota, James Rutkowski of North Liberty, Ind., Julienne Lawson of Michigan City, Ind., and Kerry Rutkowski of Granger; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Blanch Bend; and by a brother, Sylvester Gaczkowski of Marcellus, Mich.

Annette was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. For over 33 years, Annette worked for General Liquors, retiring in 1981.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10th, in the FOREST G. HAY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11th, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior to services in church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
