Roberta ''Bobbie'' Minczewski, 81, of South Bend, Ind., passed away quietly from this life on Friday, July 14, in the Iron-wood Health and Rehabilita-tion Center, where she had been for a short time.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1918, in St. Joseph County, Ind., to Robert and Sylvia Frame. She married Bertram ''Bud'' P. Minczewski, Jr., on Aug. 20, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1968. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorthea Summers and Frances Chandlee; and by her brothers, Frederick, Norval, Milton ''Jay'' and Ben Frame.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Minczewski of Saginaw, Mich., Bonnie (Ric) Oswald of South Bend and Connie Renehan of Naperville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Maureen (John) Renehan-Reim of Chicago, Ill., Jason Oswald of Indianapolis, Ind., and Christopher Oswald of South bend; and by 12 nieces and nephews, 40 great-nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Roberta graduated from Central High School in 1936. During her lifetime she worked at Sibley's Machine, Bearing Services, and retired from Ethan Allen. She had also worked with her husband Bud at Minczewski Realty and Insurance. She was a very active member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge 58, and held many offices including Senior Regent. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish.

Bobbie will be remembered by family and friends for her spirit of hospitality, love of family, games of chance, crossword puzzles, and gardening.

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, July 16, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where there will be a Moose service at 6:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Holy Cross Church, or to the charity of donor's choice.
