Donald R. Elbel, Sr., 82, of Kansas City, MO, passed away August 31, 2000, at Overland Park Manor Nursing Home. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday, September 8, at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel. Cremation.

Donald was born in South Bend. IN, on August 4, 1918, to the parents, Donald and Donna Elbel.

He graduated from Harvard University and earned a MBA from Harvard Business School. He was an avid golfer and white at Harvard earned a letter in Golf. He enlisted in the US Army and received a Presidential Citation. Prior to his retirement, he was a Mortgage Banker and Builder. Recently returning to Kansas City after 20 years of living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He leaves his loving wife, Jan Elbel, of the home; his children, Donald R. Elbel, Jr., Leawood, KS, and Carol Star, Delmar, CA; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
