Ruth E. Chartier, 85, Sarasota, died Mar. 1, 2004. She was born April 6, 1918, in Mount Clemens, Mich., and came to Sarasota in 1976 from Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a member of Senior Friendship Center and Unity Church.
Survivors include daughters Vicki Horton and Glori, both of Bradenton; a son, Joel of Bradenton; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services will be later. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, 2507 14th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34205
