Fleming, Helen Jo, 93 of Largo, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. She was born to William and Margaret Dewend on June 9, 1918 in Moline, Illinois. Jo was a first grade teacher and dearly loved children.
Her beloved son Ricky and her husband Warren, her parents and two sisters Gertrude and Peggy all preceded her in death.
Jo was known for her bright disposition and delightful sense of humor. She will be missed by her many friends at Grand Villa and special caregiver Dottie as well as her family.
She is survived by her nieces Trudy Loomis and Ruth (Mike) Dietz, her nephew Mac Shepard and several great nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place with an inurnment to follow at a later date. She will be placed with her son at Evergreen Cemetery, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 for the residence at the Grand Villa of Largo. Gertrude A. Dewend. Friends in Moline have received word of the death of Miss Gertrude Arrell Dewend, 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Dewend of South Bend, Ind., which occurred April 12 at South Bend. The Dewend family lived in Moline until 16 years ago. Miss Dewend was born in Moline Dec. 23, 1914. Death was caused by heart disease after an illness of three weeks
