MISHAWAKA Evelyn Fay Walters, 93, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on September 10, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Evelyn was born August 28, 1918, in New Carlisle, IN, to Neal W. and Rosa L. (Kaicy) Corey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter; Catherine Ann Scheetz; her brothers, Robert, John, Donald and Richard Corey; her sisters, Leona Corey and Dorothy Griffee. She was married to Edward C. Peltz, Frank B. Scheetz and Gary J. Walters, who all preceded her in death.

Evelyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family who includes her surviving eight children, E. Charles (Sharon) Peltz of Clermont, FL, David B. (Sally) Peltz of Niles, MI, Ronald L. (Barbara) Peltz of South Bend, IN, Sharon L. (Richard) Greenhalgh of Clearwater, FL, E. Frances (Jeff) Zipper of Orlando, FL, Janet C. (Charles) Divine of Mishawaka, IN, James R. Scheetz of South Bend, IN, Paula K. (Andy) Bayak of Osceola, IN; her sister, Geneva Woolley of Mishawaka, IN; and a brother, Neal (Betty) Corey of Palatka, FL; 20 grandchildren, 28 greatgrandchildren and 5 greatgreat-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, Osceola, IN, she was a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Secretary and Treasurer of the Women's Fellowship. She was president of the Pleasant Valley Home Extension Club for many years, an active member of Pleasant Valley Bible Study Group, and was involved in many activities, always sharing her time and energy in helping others. Her home was always open to family and friends. She loved playing cards, gardening, and ceramics. She was employed in various jobs, and in 1980 retired as office manager from Basic Machine, South Bend, IN.

Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Visitation will take place at the funeral home today, September 14, 2011, from 5 till 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, 10955 Edison Rd, Osceola, IN, on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 10 am with 1 hour of visitation prior. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
