Mildred Lydia (Cool) Henderson

Former South Bend resident Mildred Cool Henderson, 93, of Indianapolis, IN died Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Community Hospital East, Indianapolis. Mrs. Henderson was born September 2, 1918 in Miami County, IN to the late Glen Etta (Fisher) and Leonard D. Cool and had lived in the South Bend area since 1929 until recently moving to Indianapolis.

On September 26, 1959 as Mildred Cool she married Lyle H. Henderson who preceded her in death August 27, 1996.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Michael C. Cool of Indianapolis; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Henderson retired as a secretary having been employed at Bendix Corp., Standard Oil Co. and Manpower. She was a member of St. Joseph Chapter #569 Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was also a member of the former South Bend Chapter #1057 Women of the Moose, St. Joseph County Humane Society, and was involved for many years with Peru Circus Festivals, Inc. She also served on the board of Leighton Center
