Harold D. Behling

Aug. 22, 1918 - April 23, 1995

SOUTH BEND - Harold Donald Behling, 76, of Matthews Lane, died at 8 a.m. Sunday in his home. Mr. Behling retired from Studebaker Corp. and in 1983 from Miles Inc., Elkhart, after 19 years of service as steamfitter. He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in South Bend.

On May 24, 1941, in South Bend, he married Leona Giese. She survives with two sons, Bruce A. and Steven W., both of South Bend; and two sisters, Ruth Schafer of South Bend and Clara Schultz of St. Joseph.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and South Bend Bowling Association and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum. Friends may call 1 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc
