GRANGER - Edward J. Krizman, 90, residing in Granger, passed away at 4:08 P.M. 10-27-12 at home in Granger, IN. He was born in South Bend on July 28, 1922, to the late John and Julia (Jambrich) Krizmanik, and remained a lifelong area resident.

On January 23, 1970, he married the former Eleanor L. (DeGeeter) Seese, who survives. In addition to his loving wife, Eleanor, Edward is survived by daughters, Kathleen Sweet of Savannah, GA, Karen (Thomas) Carlin of Lino Lakes, MN, Karla (William) Fitzsimmons of Granger, Kristina (Kevin Luxton) Krizman of Savannah, GA, and Kim (Chris) Bearden of Roswell, GA; sons, Kurt (Cornile Sheahan) Krizman of Savannah, GA, Kevin Krizman of Germany, and the only son of both, Eleanor and Edward, Keith (Kristin) Krizman of Chicago, IL; as well as Eleanor's sons, James (Janice) Seese of Granger, William (Patricia) Seese of Orlando, FL, Thomas Seese of South Bend and Joseph (Debra) Seese, also of Granger.

Additionally, he is survived by 21 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Julie (Steve) Nyikos of Broken Arrow, OK; and one brother, Andrew (Florence) Krizman of South Bend.

Edward was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Bubich; sisters, Helen Campbell, Catherine (Kate) Mezykowski and Anne Graf; and brothers, Matthew, John, Steve and Arthur Krizman; one son-in-law, Phil Sweet; and a grandchild, Louise.

Edward served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he came back to South Bend and worked as a draftsman for Studebaker. Later he joined his brothers in ownership of Krizman, Inc., an auto chassis part manufacturer. Krizman, Inc., was the first company to produce replacement oil pan plugs for cars. The business grew from 5 brothers in the family basement into two plants in Mishawaka employing over 200 people. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a former member of VFW Post #1167, and a former member of the Knollwood Country Club where he loved to golf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 p.m. today, October 29, 2012, at Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Edward may be donated to the Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana 46637.
