SOUTH BEND - Ervin A. Wesley, 66, of 52565 Lynnewood Ave., died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday in Memortal Hospital. He retired in 1979 after 37 years as a meteorologist for Michiana Regional Airport where, for the last eight years, he was the official in charge.
Mr. Wesley was born Sept. 19, 1923, in South Bend, where he lived all his life. On July 2, 1950, in South Bend, he married the former Norma Lehman, who survives with four daughters, Gail A. Harness, Carol J. Cuthbert and Teresa E. Rowe, all of South Bend, and Diane M. Stevens of McKinney, Tex.; a son, Michael A. Wesley of Millington, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Wasielewski and Leroy Wasielewski, both of Colorado, and Robert Wasielewski of Pennsylvania; and his mother, Harriet Singleton of South Bend.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a 1942 graduate of Central High School and a member of the River Valley Muzzle Loaders Club, the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 777 and the Edwardsburg Conservation Club.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be i in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity ( of the donor's choice.
