Edna L. "Eadie" Meykel Dec. 2, 1923 - July 26, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Edna L. "Eadie" Meykel, 90, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 11:10 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Edna was born on December 2, 1923 in South Bend to Russell and Ruth (Davis) Sears, and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed as a Switchboard Operator with First Bank of South Bend for 10 years and Holy Cross Health Systems for 20 years. On October 30, 1948 she married John Wishing. He died on August 28, 1962. On May 18, 1968 she married Louis "Turf" Meykel. He died on August 4, 2006.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Kevin) Reasor of South Bend, Indiana; her son, Michael Wishing of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kyle (Julie) Reasor, Lindsay (Aaron) Reasor, and Nathan (Annette) Reasor; and ten great-grandchildren, Brooke, Collin, Jaiden, Michael, Nathan, Ethan, Ariah, Taylor, Amaru, and Abdul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m., Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Edna was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish and Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Christ Child Society, Golden Cluster, and the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Edna enjoyed playing cards and Notre Dame Football.
