Marvene K Moore Melton

Marvene K. Melton, 86, of Mishawaka, IN passed away at 6:25 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 in the Morningside Nursing Home, Mishawaka, IN. She was born on November 15, 1924 in South Bend, IN to Marvin F. and Zeffa R. (Conklin) Moore. On March 8, 1947 in South Bend, IN, she married Robert Melton who preceded her in death on March 15, 1996.

Mrs. Melton is survived by daughter, Linda (Bret) Reiter of Linden, MI; two sons, Larry (Betty Jo) Melton of Mishawaka, IN and Donald (Mary) Melton of Chesterton, IN; seven grandchildren, Mechelle D'Antonio, Eric Melton, Sara McClaran, Adam Reiter, Laura Moyer, Lisa Aulds and Amanda Melton; six great grandchildren, Alivia, Cameron, Lila Moyer, Tyler D'Antonio, Zachary Cullum and Jackson Aulds; and a brother, David (Kathy) Moore of Lakeville, IN. Three brothers, James Moore, Roger Allen Moore, and Bill Moore and one sister, Mary Hetzel, all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Melton was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Central High School. She loved to garden and everyone knew she always had an exceptional green thumb. She was an avid and faithful fan of the Chicago White Sox. She loved knitting, sewing, playing the organ and spending her winters in Florida with her husband, Bob.

Funeral services and visitation were held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.
Burial took place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
