Charles H. Lyle, 76, of Bloomington, died Friday at his residence. Born Nov. 22, 1923, in Clarksville, Tenn., he was the son of Charles W. and Mary L. (Moore) Lyle.

He worked as an administrative housing manager. He also worked in the printing plant at Indiana University and was a business manager for the alumni sesquicentennial. He graduated from IU in 1949. He served in the Second Marine Division in the South Pacific during World War II. He a member of First United Methodist Church, past president of the Optimist Club and a member of the American Legion and the IU Alumni Association.

Survivors include one son, Michael A. Lyle of Bloomington, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew D. Lyle, two infant daughters, and one sister, Mary F. Middleton.
