BETTENDORF — Darlene M. Hankins, 91, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Services in celebration of her life will be 1 p.m. Friday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Chaplain Bill Evans will officiate. A time of shared remembrances with family and friends will follow immediately at The Fountains, 3726 Thunder Ridge Road, Bettendorf. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral Home. Private family interment will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Hankins was born in 1924 in South Bend, Ind., to John O. and Clara M. Lindroth. She married Dale Hankins on March 1, 1952, in South Bend. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2013.

Her memberships included Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf. She and Dale enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, plus Canada and Mexico, and playing cards. Her priority in life, however, was being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn A. (Dan) Sitzmann of Walnut Creek, Calif.; son, Robert D. (Shirley) Hankins of Bettendorf; and grandchildren, Dale, Daniel and Sarah Sitzmann, and R. Ryan and Branden Hankins. In addition to her husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother and her sister
