Nancy Anne (Janso) Sereda

Anna Ruth "Nancy" Janso Sereda, a former manager for Montgomery Ward from Yonkers, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at the Dumont Nursing Home in New Rochelle. She was 74. Mrs. Sereda was born Feb. 13, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Ernest and Margaret Ahearn Janso. She was raised and educated in Indiana. She was a catalog manager for Montgomery Ward Catalog Co. in Yonkers from 1969 to 1985, and then worked part time at Sachs Fifth Avenue in Yonkers between 1986 and 1992.
She married James Sereda on May 29, 1948, in Miami Beach, Fla.
The couple moved to Yonkers that year. She lived for six years in Rhinebeck, N.Y., during the 1950s, but returned to Yonkers in 1957.
Mrs. Sereda was a parishioner at St. Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers. Survivors include a daughter, Cecilia Pugliese of Larchmont; two sons, David Sereda of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Robert Sereda of Warwick, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
Her husband died in 1993, and her sister, Mary Goodman, also died earlier.
Friends and family are making donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 785 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, N.Y. 10605. Visiting is tomorrow at Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers.
