Thomas Gus Anton

April 24, 1924 - June 4, 1997

Thomas G. Anton , 73, of South Bend, Ind., died following a lengthy illness at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, in Hospice House.

Mr. Anton was an attorney in private practice in South Bend until recently.

He was born on April 24, 1924, in LaPorte, Ind., and was a lifetime area resident.

He is survived by a sister, Vivian Orfanos of South Bend; a niece, Lexi Orfanos of Bloomington, Ind.; two nephews, Dr. Trent Orfanos of Crown Point, Ind., and Konstantine "Kim" Orfanos of Indianapolis; and by many other family and close friends.

Mr. Anton was a 1942 graduate of Central High School and a 1950 graduate of the Valparaiso University Law School.

He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Andrew and AHEPA of the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the church, with burial following at Southlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
