Patricia (Taberski) Mathes

SOUTH BEND - Patricia Taberski Mathes, passed away at 5:05 pm Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 7, 1927, in South Bend as the daughter of the late Leo and Hattie Taberski. Patricia was also preceded in death by her husband Chauncey Joe Mathes, a son Michael Louis Mathes, two brothers Robert Taberski and Gerald Taberski, and a sister Virginia Kish.

Surviving are two sisters Connie Klipich and Leona (John) Kintz both of South Bend; two grandchildren Joanne Mathes and Michael Mathes; 4 great-grandchildren Mikey Mathes, Emilee Fanin, Eddie Hickman, and Kayla Hickman; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia retired in 1988 from Uniroyal Technology after 34 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its Sacred Heart & Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, Notre Dame Circle #572, and the Uniroyal Ladies Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 4-7 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
