Ivajean "Jean" Rose Strock

November 17, 1926 ~ July 3, 2022 (age 95)

Ivajean “Jean” Rose Strock, 95, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022.  She was born on November 11, 1926, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Weidner) Pierce.  She was a lifetime resident of the area.

On February 25, 1950, in Goshen, Indiana, Jean married Ronald Strock, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2002.

Jean graduated from South Bend Central High School. In 1945, she retired from Uniroyal (Ball Band) after 38 years. Jean never met a stranger. She lit up a room with her presence, and by the time she left, everyone knew Jean. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed being with friends, no matter what the occasion. She was deeply religious and had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior.

Jean is survived by her children, Mitchell (Mary Lou) Strock of South Bend; Kathleen Gilmartin of New Carlisle, IN; Larry (Teri) Strock and Eric Strock, both of Osceola, IN; daughter-in-law, Kelli Strock of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, John (Jackie) Gilmartin, David (Angela) Gibson, Melissa (Ryan) Pollack, Michael Stock, Lauren (Sean) Burke, Shannon Strock, Ty Strock, and Tessa Strock; great-grandchildren, Blake Gibson, Connor and Madelyn Pollack, Isla and Owen Burke, and Amelia Rose Barnes; brother, Ronald (Sandy) Pierce; and sister, Janice Pierce. Along with her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Brian Wesley Strock; and sisters, Bonita Woeltje and Nancy Kepschull.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wellbrooke of South Bend for the love and care given to Jean during her stay.

Funeral services for Jean will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the funeral home.
