Mary Lou (McCoy) Ward

Mary Lou Ward, 78, of W. 6th St., Mishawaka, passed away in her home Saturday, August 5, 2006. Mary Lou was born on January 7, 1928, in Rochester, to the late Delbert and Carrie (Green) McCoy Sr. On April 2, 1949, she married Virgil Ward; he passed away on August 6, 1993. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Susan D. Hodgson.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Alta Magyar of South Bend; her son, Dr. Delbert I (Jacki) Ward of Sterling Heights, Mich.; five grandchildren, Holly, Anthony, Bethany, Rebecca, and Todd. She is also survived by one brother, Dr. Mark E. McCoy of Crawfordsville, Fla.; and one brother-in-law, John Hodgson of South Bend. Mary Lou graduated from South Bend Central High School.

She will be remembered for her love of mystery novels, crossword puzzles and her kindness. She loved her grandchildren dearly. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2006, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in the funeral home. Dr. Mark E. McCoy will officiate, with Dr. Delbert Ward assisting. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent to chapelhillinemoriaLcorn.
