Services for Malcolm MacDonald, 73, of Chicago, will be private. Mr. MacDonald was born April 11, 1927, in South Bend, Ind. For 18 years, Mr. MacDonald was the editor and publisher of the Meta Monthly Newsletter, it's concern being metaphysical activities.

He was a World War II occupational Army veteran in Japan.

He is survived by his nephew, Scott MacDonald of Edina, Minn.; and friend, Harry Maram of Chicago, He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeanette MacDonald; and siblings, Bruce MacDonald and Gloria MacDonald.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by Windridge Funeral Home, Cary.
