Joann Keltner Miller, 82, Indianapolis, died June 18, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospice. She was born in South Bend, Indiana to Ralph and Ada Keltner on August 20, 1927.
After graduating from high school in South Bend, she attended MacMurray College and later graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught first grade in several Indiana schools. Joann loved books and became quite knowledgeable about authors and illustrators of children's literature.
Joann is survived by her husband Joseph A. Miller, Jr.; three children, Lynn A. Rhamy, Mark W. (Gail) Rhamy, and Ellen R. (David) Todd; two step-children, David N. Miller and Susan M. Poole; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, followed by a brief memorial service.
