Ernest Willis Hood, age 80, was born September 15, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana. He passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at a local hospital.

Mr. Hood served in the Naval Air Force during World War II. He retired from Monsanto and was an avid golfer. Mr. Hood was a member of St. Monica's Episcopal Church and was blessed to serve 20 years in the Kairos prison ministry.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years; Valerie, daughter; Vicki Bolton (Arthur), son; Jeffrey Hood (Terina), 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Rose Mary Wendt France of Pensacola, Barbara Adams of Hammond, Indiana, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Monica's Episcopal Church with Father David McDowell-Flemming officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Serving, as pallbearers will be Band of Brothers of St. Monica's Episcopal Church.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday, July 13, 2007.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Monica's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North 1000 Highway 29 South Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
