Virginia Lucille Logan, 78, of South Bend IN died Sunday June 26, 2005 after a brief battle with cancer in Healthwin.

She was born Virginia Lucille Brajcki in Chicago IL, and had moved to South Bend IN as a child with her parents, Joseph L Brajcki and Clara (Printz) Brajcki.

In 1951 she married Richard Logan. She is survived by her husband; a daughter Jeanne Logan and her husband, Leonard Vander Zee; a son David Logan and his fiancee Jesse Beavers, all of South Bend; and a sister, Loretta Papczynski of Sebring FL.

Though often hampered by ill health for much of her adult life, Virginia was a faithful, generous and cheerful volunteer for many community organizations including the 1st United Methodist Soup Kitchen (over 18 years), the Leighton Center and the Alzheimer's Association.

As a longtime member and worshiper at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. James, she founded and tirelessly raised money for its Hunger Fund, established and ran the parish gift shop for more than 20 years, as well as assuming many other volunteer activities.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St. James on Saturday, July 2, at 11 a.M. with interment of her ashes in the Cathedral Columbarium immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia's memory for the Soup Kitchen at 1st United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main, South Bend.
