Lowie Elizabeth Phillips

SOUTH BEND -- Mrs. Lowie E. Phillips, 81, of Darden Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, in her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born on Aug. 28, 1923, in South Bend, and resided in the Michiana area for her lifetime. On Jan. 28,1942, in South Bend, as Lowie E. Witter, she married Victor E. Phillips, who passed away on Feb. 13, 1992.
Lowie is survived by a son, Larry L. (Robin) Phillips of Tell City, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer D. Phillips of South Bend and Lee E. Phillips of Bloomington, Ind.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker who loved gardening and cooking.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family and all who knew her. She was cared for so wonderfully by her family during her illness.

There will be no visitation. Graveside memorial services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
The family request that all memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Phillips family.
