Joseph K. Prebys, 45, of 1147 Whitehall Dr., died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been ill of leukemia the last four months. He was an architect for Skyline Homes, Inc. in Elkhart.

He was born Oct: 10, 1923 in South Bend. On Aug. 4, 1950, in South Bend he married the former Mary C. Schwertley, who survives. Other survivors are two sons, Andrew and Christopher, and two daughters, Ann and Marguerite, all at home; two brothers, Anthony H., of South Bend and John F., of Lake Jackson, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas W. Perry and Mrs. Robert H. Stahl, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Anthony Broniarczyk, of Cicero, Ill.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Little Flower Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Payne, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Prebys was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Navy. Memorials may be made to the Little Flower Education Building Fund. The Bilancio-Guisinger Funeral Home has charge arrangements.
