DIES IN FRANCE. PFC. JOSEPH W. PERLEY. Pfc.

Joseph W. Perley, aged 22, has been killed in action in France, the war department has notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Niven, 238 East Dubail avenue. He entered France as a paratrooper on D-day.

He entered the army on March 3, 1942, and trained at Fort Benning, Ga., and Alliance, Neb., before going overseas last November, first to Ireland and then to England.

Pfc. Perley was born in South Bend May 5, 1922. Survivors besides parents include two sisters, Elnor and Mrs. Glenn McKee, both of South Bend.

Before entering the army he was employed the George Wyman & Co. store
