Alice Mary Britton, 78 of St. James City died Thursday morning in Cape Coral Hospital. She was born in Peru, IN and moved here five years ago from Mishawaka, IN. Mrs. Britton was a member of the Gulf Coast Mandolin Ensemble, the City of Ft. Myers String Band, the Lee Co. Fiddle Support Group, and the Pine Island Trio. She was a volunteer in the IRS VITA program on Pine Island:
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lawrence J. Britton; son Verne of Morgantown, WV and daughter, Beth of Mishawaka, IN.
Funeral services will be held next week in Mishawaka, IN with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends locally on Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made to your choice.
