Phyllis Kathleen Moffitt Moreillon

Phyllis Kathleen Moreillon, age 86, of Mt Sterling, Illinois passed away at 11:03 pm Saturday July 25, 2009 at Heritage Manor Nursing home in Mt Sterling.

Phyllis was born July 20, 1923 in South Bend Indiana the daughter of Charles Edward and Edna Leona Kotz Moffitt.

She graduated from Central High School in South Bend with the class of 1941 and also graduated from Comptometer school of South Bend in 1941.
She married Morrison Moreillon on August 13, 1944 in South Bend and he preceded her in death January 7, 1989.

She was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Western Auto Associate Store in Mt Sterling for 18 years, retiring in 1991

Mrs. Moreillon was a member of the Mt Sterling First United Methodist Church where she served as church pianist for several years. She was also a member of the 20th century club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Brown County Cancer Society Board

Phyllis always enjoyed playing bridge, music and oil painting.

Survivors include 2 sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law:
Jeanette Bovard of Harrison, Ohio
Paul & Wilma Leive of Rising Sun, Indiana.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her husband and parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday July 29, 2009 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt Sterling Illinois, Rev Connie Jenkins officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service son Wednesday at the funeral home.

A graveside service and burial was held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Rising Sun New Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Mt Sterling First United Methodist Church or the Brown County Ambulance service. Hendricker Funeral home in Mt Sterling is in charge of Illinois arrangements. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay was in charge of local arrangements.
