Robert Anthony Jordan
The body of Pfc. Robert A. Jordan, 25, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Jordan, 842
South 29th street, is being returned here from France for funeral services at 2
p.m. Thursday in the River Park Church of Christ. Rev. O. T. Sparrow, pastor,
will officiate and burial will be in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial park.
Friends will be received in the Hollis chapel Tuesday night and until the
funeral.
Pfc. Jordan was killed in action in Normandy on Sept. 24, 1944. He
enlisted here June 16, 1941 and served with Company D, 320th infantry, 35th
division. He was graduated from Central High school. Surviving besides his
parents are a brother, Donald, and a sister, Mrs. Patricia Pitts, of South Bend,
and a grandfather, Delbert Sills, South Bend.
He was a member of the River
Park church and was a charter member of Sons of the Legion .
