Jeanne L. Ladewski June 30, 1923 - Aug. 21, 2014 NILES - Jeanne L. Ladewski, 91, of Niles, MI, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Thursday August 21, 2014, in her daughter's home. She was born on June 30, 1923 in South Bend to the late Charles and Sybril (Stucker) Claunch and was a lifelong area resident.

On August 24, 1944 she married Stanley M. Ladewski who preceded her in death on May 12, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Ellen Ladewski; and two sisters, Patricia Tarwacki and Mary Wiesner.

She is survived by her daughter, Michaelle Ann Bartak of Niles; a granddaughter, Lisa Kaye (Paul) Bursch of Temecula, CA; a brother-in-law, Eugene (Noreen) Ladewski of South Haven, MI; and by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ladewski graduated from South Bend Central High School class of 1941. She worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation in food service for 20 years, before retiring in May 1986. Jeanne was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Granger, IN. Jeanne enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.

Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon Saturday August 23, 2014, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home, with burial to conclude at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association, Lakeland Healthcare (Hospice at Home), Niles, MI or Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Granger.
