Robert B. Ward
Robert B. Ward, 66, of 2005 E. Colfax Ave., died of natural causes at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb 21, 1988, in the Memorial Hospital emergency room. Mr. Ward was a salesman and the owner and president of Ward Oil Co. and vice president of marketing at Gaska Tape Inc., Elkhart. He was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Fargo, N.D., and had lived in South Bend for 50 years after coming from Chicago.
On Aug. 28, 1948, in South Bend, he married the former Kathleen A. McCaffery, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James R. of Grand Rapids; two grandchildren; a sister, Jane W. Vernon of San Rafael, Calif.; and his mother, Margaret B. Ward of San Rafael.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road. Mr. Ward was past president of the St. Joseph Valley Oilmen's Club and a member of the former Indiana Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the scholarship fund of Stanley Clark School
