GROVERTOWN Services for Lorrell "Pete" Thornburg, 70, of 56137 Hoover Ave., Mishawaka, formerly of Grovertown, who died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in his home after an illness, will be at 1. p.m. Saturday in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be in Grovertown Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County (Ind.) Hospice or Indiana Lions Club Eye Bank. Mr. Thornburg was a retired electrician. He was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Marshall County and moved to Mishawaka a year ago from Grovertown.
On Nov. 10, 1944. in Walkerton, he married Betty Pfeiffer. She survives with three daughters. Laura Jo Hover of Norfolk, Va., Brenda Cerlesi and Marva Pijut, both of Mishawaka; a son, Jay of Mishawaka: six grandchildren; a great-grandson; his step mother, Dorothy Thornburg of Walkerton; and a brother, Cloise of Pueblo.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6919, Culver: Koontz Lake Conservation Club and Indiana Lions Eye. Bank, was a charter member the Koontz Lake Lions Club
