Forrest Richard Puckett
ARLINGTON — Forrest Puckett, 85, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. FUNERAL: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Forrest and his family moved to Texas in 1954 to take a job at General Motors. He served in the Army almost four years and had the rank of T/4. He received the Bronze, Good Conduct medals, and the ETO ribbon with four service stars. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Arlington. He was an avid reader until macular degeneration took his sight, and also loved to write editorials to the paper to voice his opinion on everything.
Forrest had a huge circle of friends and will be greatly missed. He loved to drop pennies on the street, knowing his wife would find them later and be excited. He loved telling jokes: “So, Daddy, did you hear the one about...?”
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth; brothers, Robert Jr. and Garry; daughter, Janice; and infant son, Richard Bruce.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 61 years, Ruthie; daughter, Gayle; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren
