Sgt Richard Charles Meyer

Richard served as a Staff Sergeant on B-24J (#44-41174), 23rd Bomber Squadron, 5th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in St. Joseph County, Indiana prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 2, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a routemen and also as Single, without dependents.

Richard was "Killed In Action" over the Philippines during the war. He was awarded an Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
