Max Foy Leslie, 71, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, April 4, 1993, in a Mountain Home hospital of natural causes. Rosary-Vigil services will be held at 6:15 p.m. today, April 7, at Humpherys Funeral Home, Mountain Home, with Father Raul Covarrubias of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the BPOE #2276 in Mountain Home with Exhaulted Ruler Ray Langston officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home. In 1949 Max and his family came to Idaho from South Bend, Ind. where he accepted the position of manager with the Merc Dept. Stores. He managed the Payette and Ontario stores until 1956 when he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to manage a Merc store there and then to the Merc of Mountain Home in 1978 until his retirement in 1988. Many will remember Max and his warm and friendly greeting he always gave. Max loved duck hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.

He enjoyed the time retirement allotted him, to visit and enjoy his hobbies more. He married Delores Thieman on September 14, 1990 in Boise. Max was a charter member of the Granger Community Church of South Bend, Ind., was the finance officer for the American Legion for several years, a member of the Elks #2276, the American Legion, the Forty and Eight, Senior Citizen's, the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Honor Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Delores of Mountain Home; one son, Charles of Salt Lake City, Utah; two stepsons, Bruce Thieman of Washington D.C., and Martin Thieman of Oceanside, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Dawn Monasterio of Mountain Home; three brothers, Carl Leslie and Jerry Leslie of South Bend, Ind., and Gene Leslie of Ventura, Calif.; as well as three grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Humpherys Funeral Home. The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association
