June E (Gillen) Downing
June Downing, 46, of 935 Manchester Dr., died at 2:45 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of five months. Mrs. Downing was born Dec. 11, 1922 in South Bend.
On Sept. 22, 1944, was married to Jack R. Downing in Concord, N.J. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Jeffrey, a student at Valparaiso University; her mother, Mrs. Erma Gillen, of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Mrs. William Messersmith, of South Bend; and a brother, Albert Gillen, of Silver Springs, Md.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Our Redeeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Edmund A. Peters, pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home| from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and after noon Wednesday in the church.
