Elaine Isabell (Rankin) Jones

SOUTH BEND, IN. - Elaine Isabell Jones, 87, passed away on Friday, Feb.13, 2009, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. She was born on July 21, 1921, in Terre Coupe, IN, to the late Oliver and Lilly Rankin. On May 3, 1941, in Ft. Wayne, IN, as Elaine Rankin, she married Edwin Keith Jones, who preceded her in death in November 1981. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Velma Riddle.

Elaine is survived by a daughter, Jacquie Rothenhoefer of South Bend; a son, Maurice (Margaret) Jones of Niles, MI; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Jones, Marne Stigner, Bobby Thompson,Jason Yuhasz, Kim Yannock, Brian Larrison, Eric Gold and Shanna Clark; and nine great-grandchildren, Zane Yuhasz, Conner, Ryan, Devren and Gage Stigner,Vince Miller, Amy and Brad Yannock, and Hayden Clark.

Elaine was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting.

A private memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009. There was no visitation. Burialis at at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Welsheimer Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
