Norman W. Merrick, 65, of 61070 Locust Road, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness. Mr. Merrick was a retired pharmacist. He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On July 27, 1957, in South Bend, he married Lila Mullet, who survives with a daughter, :Rose Marie Merrick, at home; a brother, Gale of South Bend; and his mother, Esther Merrick of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home, where memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Masonic Lodge 294.

He was a graduate of the former Central High School, Purdue University and the Nashville Auction School He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and its choir, Masonic Lodge 294 F di AM, Indiana Auctioneers Association, Purdue Alumni Association and Kappa Psi pharmaceutical fraternity. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society.
